Finding Motivation: What To Do When You Don't Feel Like Doing Anything by Chris Widener

In all of my interactions with people, I've never found anyone, regardless of their level of success, who doesn't sometimes find themselves simply not wanting to do the things that they need and want to do. It is a part of human nature that there will be times that, in spite of all that we need to do, and even desire to, we will find ourselves not wanting to do anything. And what separates those who will become successful from those who will maintain the status-quo, is the ability at those very crucial moments of time when we are making decisions about what we will do, to choose to find the inner motivation that will enable us to conquer our complacency and move on in action.
I find that I confront this issue in my life on a regular basis, so the following success strategies are not merely pie in the sky techniques, but proven ways to get yourself to go even when you don't feel like doing anything.
Honestly evaluate whether or not you need a break.This is the first thing that I usually do what I find that I don't want to get to a specific action. The fact is that oftentimes we will have been working very hard and the lethargy we are feeling is really our body and emotions telling us that we simply need a break. And this is where it takes real intellectual honesty because when we don't need a break our mind is still telling us we need a break! But sometimes we do need a break. I'll give you a good example. I don't particularly like to exercise, but I do almost every day. Sometimes, I find myself before going to the club thinking about how I just didn't feel like going. Most of the time I am just being lazy. However, sometimes I realize that my body needs a break. So from time to time I will take a one or two daybreak from working out. The benefits of this are two-fold: One, my body gets a break to regenerate itself. Two, after a day or two, I begin to miss my workout, and eagerly anticipate a turning to the gym.
Other examples: Perhaps you are a salesman who has been phoning clients for a week straight, day and night. You wake up one morning and just don’t feel like doing it any more. Well, take a break for the morning. Go to a coffee shop and read the paper. Go to the driving range and hit some golf balls. Take a break and then get back to it!
Start small.I'm at a point in my workout schedule now where a typical workout day for me consists of 30 to 45 minutes of aerobic exercise, and about 30 minutes of weight lifting. So when I find myself not wanting to get up and go to the gym, I will sometimes make a commitment to go and just do a smaller workout. Instead of deciding not to go, I'll commit to doing 15 to 20 minutes of aerobic exercise and 15 to 30 minutes of weight lifting. This is also good for two reasons. One, I actually get some exercise that day. And two, it keeps me from getting into a cycle of giving up when I don't feel like moving toward action. Other examples: Maybe you are a writer who simply doesn’t want to write today. Instead of the long day writing you had planned, decide that you will at least outline a couple of new articles. You will at least get these done, and you may have found that you put yourself into the writing mood after all.
Change your routine.I have found that what keeps me in the best shape and burns the most calories for me, is to do 30 to 45 minutes on the treadmill every day. Now let me be very blunt. I find running on the treadmill to be extremely boring. Usually I can get myself to do it, but sometimes I need to vary my routine. So instead of 30 to 45 minutes on a treadmill, I will break down my aerobic exercise routine into a number of different areas. I will do ten to 15 minutes on treadmills, 10 to 15 minutes on the reclining cycle, 5 to 10 minutes on the rowing machine, 5 to 10 minutes on the stair stepper, and then back on to the treadmill for five to 10 minutes. I still get my exercise, but I'm bored a lot less.
Other examples: Maybe you are in construction and you have been working on the plumbing for a week, and it is getting monotonous. Don’t do the plumbing today! Go frame-in the office.
Reward yourself.One way that I motivate myself to do something when I don't feel like doing it, is to tell myself that if I get through the work that I need to, I will give myself a little reward. For instance, I may tell myself if I to get up and go to the club I can take five to 10 minutes off my treadmill exercise, which will shorten my workout routine, and I'll allow myself to sit in the hot tub for a few extra minutes. Hey, it works!
Other examples: Maybe you are a mortgage broker who feels like sleeping in. Tell yourself that after the next three mortgages you close you will take your kids to the fair, or your spouse to the movies. Maybe you’ll give yourself a night on the town with old friends.
Reconnect the action with pleasure rather than pain.Psychologists have long told us that we humans tend to connect every action with either pleasure or pain. Tony Robbins has popularized this even further in the last few years with something he calls Neural Associations. That is, we connect every action with either a pleasure, or pain. When we are finding ourselves lacking motivation, what we are probably finding about ourselves is that we are associating the action that we are thinking about with pain, rather than pleasure. For instance, when I'm considering that not going to the health club on any given day, I am usually associating going and working out with having no time, the pain of exercising and weight lifting, or the boringness of running on a treadmill for an extended period of time. What I can do to re-associate is to remind myself that by going in and doing my exercise I will feel better about myself, I will lose weight, and I will live longer. This brings me pleasure. When we begin to run those kinds of tapes through our minds, we find our internal motivating force unleashed and changing our attitude about the action that we are considering.
Other examples: Maybe you are a counselor who really doesn’t want to spend the day listening to people. Your association may be that it will be boring, or that you will be inside while it is sunny outside. Instead, re-associate yourself to the truth of the matter: Someone will be better off because of your care and concern. Think of your clients and the progression they have been making recently and how you have been a part of that.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Like any other process, connecting has rules and strategies. You may know some of them, but odds are you don’t know them all. These strategies and rules are simplistic -- but they are not simple. As you read them and begin to understand them, they will help you make connections in a better, more powerful way. Oh, one other thing -- you have to implement them.

Be friendly first, and everything else falls into place. Friendly breeds likability and trust. People do business with people they like and people they trust. The twin of friendly is smiley. People who smile are 100 times more attractive than people who don’t. Smiling not only sets the tone for others, it’s the reflection you give them about who you are and how you think. How friendly are you? How easy is it for you to make friends?
Project your self-image in a way that breeds confidence in others. Your handshake is an indicator of your self-image. So is your dress. Everything from your hair to your shoes is an indicator of who you are, and what your style may be, or not be. Projected image creates first impressions. And even though first impressions are not always correct, they are the ones that stick in the mind of the other person until corrected. What is the image that you have of yourself? What kind of image do you think you project? Is that image acceptable to those you seek to connect with?
Your ability to look someone in the eye as you speak to them is a tell-tale sign of your own self-respect. Make eye contact. It’s not only a display of confidence, it’s a display of truth and a display of respect for the other person. Do you find it easy to make eye contact? Do you find it a sign of weakness when others do not make eye contact with you?
Your consistent positive attitude will breed positive responses and positive results. Everyone knows it’s important to have a positive attitude. Very few people understand how important a role it plays in the way you communicate and the way you are perceived by others. Without a positive attitude, your words become cynical and slanted. Without a positive attitude, your demeanor becomes borderline or unacceptable. Positive attitude needs to be there all the time, in the background, as fuel to run your engine of life, without toxic emissions. Do you expect to have a positive attitude if you are not doing something positive in the morning every day?
No connection is made without some form of risk. Dare yourself, accept the dare, and take the risk to make the connection. My philosophy of “no risk, no nothing” is most evident in making connections. You can lower your risk tolerance and risk barrier by being prepared, having the self-confidence, and projecting the image to take a short walk out on a thick limb to make the next connection. Have you ever taken a risk and succeeded? Didn’t it seem like less of a risk after the event was over than before you were willing to take it? Ask yourself why you’re avoiding the risk rather than simply making an excuse about it.
“Ninety percent of success is showing up,” is a quote made famous by Woody Allen. He almost had it right. The principle is: Ninety percent of success is showing up prepared. Preparation is the key to success. Luckily for you, most people are either underprepared or unprepared. There’s no such thing as being overprepared. CAUTION: Preparation requires work. Homework. Before hours and after hours work. If you are looking to connect, preparation is not the best way. Preparation is the only way. When you show up to a networking event, how prepared are you? When you go to some kind of connection meeting, either business or social, how prepared are you?
The less you focus on your motive to meet, the more likely it is that your connection will be successful. Most people trying to connect have some sort of motive or need. That’s OK, depending upon when you make the ask. In my opinion, it should be later than sooner. First seek friendship and acceptance. In other words, drop your agenda and focus on connecting, not extracting. Is your focus short-term gain, or a long-term relationship?
Take a genuine interest in other people before you ask them to take a genuine interest in you. If you’re trying to connect with another person, it seems obvious you’d want to get to know them. Not just qualify them, but to learn from them. The best way to find out about other people is to ask questions. Do you have a list of questions prepared in advance that will bring you an understanding of who you’re meeting with?
The sooner you can find something in common with the other guy, the sooner all the barriers will disappear. The link is not the secret. Finding it is. Find common ground, and you’ll always have something to talk about. Think about the closest friends and the closest connections you have made throughout your life. I’ll guarantee you the foundation is filled with things you have in common. Are you willing to devote the time that it takes to uncover things you may have in common with a prime connection?
The higher up the ladder you go, the more cautious people will be of your advances. Everyone wants to make powerful connections. A bigger question is: Do the powerful people want to make a connection with you? That depends on value, engagement, and the interest that you generate. In general, people with wealth are in no hurry to make big decisions. Don’t you be either. Build confidence and build trust by going slower than you think you should. Are you trying for higher-level connections? Are they responding in a favorable way?
Your projected image will often determine your ability to make a real connection. It’s not “class,” it’s “first class.” And image leads to reputation. How are people referring to you behind your back?
People judge you by every action that you take. They keep mental bookmarks about the promises you make and how you fulfilled them. You MUST always give a first class performance. You can’t just look first class, you gotta take first class action and do everything in a first class way. Do you always do what you say you will do? Do people refer to you as first class?

The Art of Schmoozing
“It's not what you know or who you know, but who knows you.” Susan RoAne.

The Guy Kawasaki Theory of Schmoozing version 1.0 was ad hoc: get to know the people that you need for a specific deal. It was short-term and focused.Version 2.0 is ad infinitum--maybe even ad nauseam. It's taken me twenty years, but I've figured out that it's much easier to make a sale, build partnerships, create joint ventures--you name it--with people that you already know than with people you just met.

The key is to establish a relationship before you need it. And this is why I'd like to provide the art of schmoozing.
Understand the goal. Darcy Rezac in his book, The Frog and the Prince, wrote the world's best definition of schmoozing: “Discovering what you can do for someone else.” Herein lies eighty percent of the battle: great schmoozers want to know what they can do for you, not what the you can do for them. If you understand this, the rest is just mechanics.
Get out. Schmoozing is an analog, contact sport. You can't do it alone from your office on the phone or via a computer. You may hate them but force yourself to go to tradeshows, conventions, and seminars. It's unlikely that you'll be closing a big order with someone you met online at MySpace or via Skype. Get out there and press flesh.
Ask good questions, then shut up. The mark of a good conversationalist is not that you can talk a lot. The mark is that you can get others to talk a lot. Thus, good schmoozers are good listeners, not good talkers. Ask softball questions like, “What do you do?” “Where are you from?” “What brings you to this event?” Then listen. Ironically, you'll be remembered as an interesting person.
Unveil your passions. Only talking about business is boring. Good schmoozers unveil their passions after they get to know you. Great schmoozers lead off with their passions. Your passions make you an interesting person--you'll stick out because you're the only person not talking about 802.11 chipsets at the wireless conference. Personally, my passions are children, Macintosh, Breitling watches, digital photography, and hockey if you ever meet me.
Read voraciously. In order to be a good schmoozer, you need to read voraciously--and not just the EE Times, PC Magazine, and the Wall Street Journal. You need a broad base of knowledge so that you can access a vast array of information during conversations. Even if you are a pathetic passionless person, you can at least be a well-read one who can talk about a variety of topics.
Follow up. Over the course of my career, I've given away thousands of business cards. At one point, I thought I was nuts because if all those people called or emailed me, I'd never get anything done. Funny thing: hardly anyone ever follows up. Frankly, I don't know why people bother asking for a business card if they're not going to follow up. Great schmoozers follow up within twenty-four hours--just a short email will do: “Nice to meet you. I hope we can do something together. Hope your blog is doing well. I loved your Breitling watch. I have two tickets to the Stanley Cup Finals if you want to attend.” Include at least one thing to show the recipient that she isn't getting a canned email.
Make it easy to get in touch. Many people who want to be great schmoozers, ironically, don't make it easy to get in touch with them. They don't carry business cards, or their business cards don't have phone numbers and email addresses. Even if they provide this information, it's in grey six-point type. This is great if you're schmoozing teenagers, but if you want old, rich, famous, and powerful people to call or email, you'd better use a twelve-point font. (These are the same folks that need the thirty-point font vis-a-vis the 10/20/30 Rule of PowerPoint.)
Give favors. One of my great pleasures in life is helping other people; I believe there's a big Karmic scoreboard in the sky. God is keeping track of the good that you do, and She is particularly pleased when you give favors without the expectation of return from the recipient. The scoreboard always pays back. You can also guess that I strongly believe in returning favors for people who have helped you.
Ask for the return of favors. Good schmoozers give favors. Good schmoozers also return favors. However, great schmoozers ask for the return of favors. You may find this puzzling: Isn't it better to keep someone indebted to you? The answer is no, and this is because keeping someone indebted to you puts undue pressure on your relationship. Any decent person feels guilty and indebted. By asking for, and receiving, a return favor, you clear the decks, relieve the pressure, and set up for a whole new round of give and take. After a few rounds of give and take, you're best friends, and you have mastered the art of schmoozing.

6 Steps to a Stronger Mind by Mark Victor Hansen

Our minds are all we've got. They are the source of who we, both personally and professionally, are. They determine our success or failure. They are our strength and our weakness.
With the quality of our entire lives resting on our minds, it's unbelievable that we choose to fill them with so much garbage. The amount of negativity from television, newspapers, tabloids and other media that bombards us on a daily basis is amazing. We would never think to fill our bodies with only junk food, right? Heck no. We know that if we ate nothing but French fries and ice cream we would experience negative consequences like skin blemishes, weight gain and rotting teeth.
But with mental junk food we don´t see the physical consequences right away. When our minds are constantly filled with negativity and bad news, our minds begin to decay. That´s why we need to develop a strong, Herculean-esque mind.
Developing your mental muscles will give you the power to accomplish anything you want in life. Sure, it takes some discipline on your part, but look at the world's greatest bodybuilders. They don't show up at the gym every once in a while. They create a workout schedule and they are at the gym every day, no matter what.
Hire yourself as your "mental manager". Figure out how much you're going to pay yourself and make up a job list. Here are six jobs to assign to yourself to create a stronger mind.
1. Read RightHow much good news do you see in the newspapers? Editors usually say, "If it bleeds, it leads." Not much chance of positivity there. So, read something else. Read books – good books. Books that motivate you. Books that inspire you. Look up some of the great inspirational authors online or in your local bookstore. Read them every morning and/or every night, before you go to sleep.
2. Share Your MindFind someone, or a group of someone's, who have the same desire to share positivity. This is called masterminding. Great successes are created when great minds come together and think about the same things.
3. Find A MentorMy mentor was Buckminster Fuller and I learned more from that man about life than I ever hoped to. Who are the people you admire most, whether you know them or not? Figure out whom you'd like to emulate and study them. If they offer seminars, attend them. If they've written books, read them. Just a few I´d recommend are: Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins, Dr. Wayne Dyer and Zig Ziglar.
4. Listen to Motivational/Inspirational CDs and DVDsThis is one of the most important habits you can create for yourself. Find inspirational audio messages and listen to them over and over. Earl Nightingale, one of the most brilliant thinkers of our time, had this to say on the subject: "Tape listening is the most important advance in technology since the invention of the printing press." With CDs speakers can reach 10 times as many people as the printed word ever could.
5. Sign Up and Attend SeminarsThe motivational messages you hear at seminars, and the inspirational people you meet, reinforce your self-esteem and positive thinking. You can search out seminars via the internet, newspapers or local colleges and universities.
6. Turn Off the TelevisionOn average, the television set in an American home is on over 7 hours a day. Just like any bad habit, it needs to be broken. I'm not saying that all television is bad. Heck no. I'm simply recommending that you cut back on your television viewing. Decide how long you're going to watch television and then turn it off when you're time is up. Try cutting back your television viewing one hour every day at first. You can use that time to read a book, listen to a motivational tape, walk your dog or spend time with your family.
After reading these six steps maybe you're saying, "But Mark, I can´t do it. I just don´t know if I can be this dedicated to bettering myself?" Who else are you going to be dedicated to if not yourself? Because when it comes right down to it, folks, you are all that you've got. Jobs and relationships come and go. Children grow up, leave the nest and get lives of their own. Then there you are, alone with yourself. Why not create a "you" you can be proud of.

NO STRANGERS !!!

In my network marketing journey, I have learnt that there are no strangers only friends we havent met. I my Network Marketing business, I just learnt in last weeks training session, that its not the MARKETING theat matters more but the NETWORKING. That means, not to just be too anxious about marketing my product or getting someone signed up, but to be interested in the people. Not just seeing how much WE NEED THEM as if they are some commodities, but to see that THEY NEED US. This will only make us look out for what we can add to their life, be interested in them and the marketing will definately take care of itself. Remembering also that our prospect will not listen to us until they know we care. So the focus has changed from ME ( who want to make $XYZ, or hit the next leadership title), to THEM (how I can help add sunhine to thier life). Today I vowed to ADD SUNSHINE TO THE LIFE OF ANY ONE WHO COMES IN CONTACT WITH ME. SO HELP ME GOD. AND THAT INCLUDES YOU. ADDING SUNSHINE IN PEOPLE'S LIFE MUST NOT HAPPEN ONLY WHEN THEY SIGN UP TO DO BIZ WITH ME. NO THEY DONT HAVE TO. I JUST WANT TO ADD SUNSHINE TO THIER LIFE. STAY COOL AND MAKE YOUR WEEK GREAT. Its sunday and I was in church. How I have missed church. Last sunday after easter, we couldnt have service because our Generator was bad and we had no power supply from the Government. I wasnt funny at all as we just have to go home. Yes thats how it is in this part of the country. Nothing and absolutely nothing works. You just have to make it and take care of yourself or nothing happens. Makes me more determined to pursue my biz with such persistence, zeal and passion. Hi, I am so thrilled to back to blogging again. I have been having such great epiphany and my biz is taking such new great level so I just thought that I have got to keep a record of all the happenings and get ready for tommorrow when I will have to write a book on how it all started and how I made it to the top.
Hope y'all been having a good time and behaving as one of my friend Mr Olaseriki would put it. Any time I ask him how he was doing, he always says "well Amara, I am behaving myself". So I hope you've all been behaving.
My Tahitian Noni International Home based business is boomming and you know what, the company is finally in Nigeria and we'll be holding a Fast Start and Coral camp on the 27th and 28th March 2007 respectively. We are all very excited. Even old "dead" downlines are excited about this and can you believe that more than half of my organisation are coming.
Do have a great time in church tommorrow and constantly, we will be communicating. Oh and if you dont go to church, still have a great time.

I haven't been posting! Oh Amara why? Well, not trying to give excuses because I dont want to live a life of excuses. Someone once told me that an excuse is a well planned lie. But why havent I been posting? It's because I had an all week christian convention here in the U.S (morning and night) and then I and some of my friends are working on a coporate blog site and must generate enough posts before the launching of the site next week. God is our help. It's very challenging but we'll do it because we're young entreprenuers who are reaching the world through Access Marketing and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). I'm in America

This will be my second time in U.S. My first trip here was 2003 and I spent 3 long months just crusing around the U.S. All in all, I visited not more than 16 states: from New Jersey to Pensylvania to New hamshire to Florida to Ohio to Arizona to Coneticut, (not kidding at all), not to forget Newyork and Jeff to mention a few infact, I had a time of my life.
On this trip, I am spending just ten days, I had a wonderful flight, meeting new people on the plane, I even prospected a woman on the plane who was on her way to London from Lagos about Noni. It was a Klm flight and I really enjoyed myself especially with their conjuction with the Sky team. I watched a lot of movies like The running mum; Failing to Launch; Legend of Zoro.... The meal wasnt all that Bad. Right now, I am writing this post in my room at the Hilton Hotel in Pensylvania. Actually the main purpose of my trip is to attend My church's yearly convention at the Radison Hotel. I believe God will meet me in such a mighty way. Be good now. Bye

Life and Pain
Strong winds blow often. I have come to a conclusion that life and pain are inseperable. Pain in life for different ones, comes in different ways and at different times. Some problems come upon us, some are as a result of some circumstances and some people while some are our fault. But problems are problems no matter their type. The only difference is just the way we handle them. Have noticed that some people seem to never have any problem, while some other people seem to always problems. The truth is that EVERYONE has problem, some are just well and deeply anchored in life like a ship in the midst of a stormy sea while others have no anchor at all.

Surround yourself with people who are strong or who seem to have found a way to handle stormy situations and don't forget to learn from your mistakes and see them rather as a stepping stones. That was exactly what I did and today I am strong and can help someone out there who maybe hurting. Just know that you are not alone. One main anchor that I am sure of Jesus Christ. Be sure to try.

Disappointments-Stepping stones

I very well have experienced disappointments in my mlm business and I would narrate 3 that has taken place in just today’s. Now, in whatsoever form they come, even if just once, they are not funny at all.

Disappointment No 1: After being introduced to my great product called Tahitian Noni Juice and having personal testimonies after using the product, this gentleman and I agreed that he will sign up to do the business come Tuesday this week. I excitedly walked into his office and he had news for me. He had registered with someone else for the same business the night before and hopes I didn’t mind. Of course I didn’t mind because life still has a lot in store for me but I sure did let him know how badly he had done in the very best way that I can, like the good girl I am. Later, feeling bad (I guess), he asked if he re- register. That is up to him I have got other prospects and down lines in my mlm organization that are waiting for my assistance.
Disappointment No 2. I called another prospect today (as agreed), and he also had news for me: he is going to register, but with someone else, who promises to register him for free.

Disappointment No 3. On my way to see my no 3 prospect, I called to ensure he was still in his office. He said he was. I got there in less than 10 minutes and he announced to me that he was at the airport (no apologies). He has his own business. Well, I thought to myself, it’s my mlm business; it’s my vision and my passion.

Disappointments are only stepping stones on your way to success. I have got great things in store for me this month.

My Prayer Today

Dear Jesus, I thank thee for still letting me be alive up till this moment. I believe it is for a purpose. I thank you for the mountains and the valleys and I thank thee for giving me the needed strength for each day. You have never allowed more than I can bear, to come my way even though at times I am overwhelmed and confused. I believe that not one thing has come my way but what you oh Lord has permitted. I believe that great things are in store for me. Teach me to trust you Lord and lean not on my own understanding. Help me to let the past go because it has gone. Help me rise above this present condition and give me the strength to live for you and you alone. I am only clay in your hand and I surrender to your ways. Break me if I still need more breakings, melt me completely and while you are molding me in your desired shape Lord, help me be still. Let me never ever blame people or live a life of excuses. I love you and ask you to instill your own divine fear in me that I might learn to do thy will alone and dedicate the rest of my life to you and you alone, grant that I may also experience what it means to be in love with thee. And for my mlm business Lord, I pray that you take it to a higher and unimaginable hight. May my life be a source of encouragement to somebody. May I look back to this period in my life and say thank you for it all in Jesus name. Amen.

It has been quite a great day.

I went to school to submit my letter of application for my national youth service posting. Actually since I finished from the University of Lagos in 2005, I haven’t gone for the normal one year National Youth Service where we give our great nation one year of our service. Why? I wanted to focus more on my new found mlm business and to worsen it all, they posted me to a place in Northern Nigeria called Plateau State, a journey of at least 18 hours. Then, you couldn’t imagine how broke I was so I decided not to go Period. This is more than a year after, I am applying now, not because I need it for a job, but because I would like to do my masters and the National Youth Service certificate is a pre-requisite, I have decided to serve my good old country. After all, I am better off financially. From school, I went to supply a carton of Noni to a retail customer and called a prospect to arrange meeting him on Sunday afternoon. I got home quite early and had some heart to heart talk with big sister, relaxed and blogged. I hope your day was not bad at all.

I woke up with a start. I knew exactly how I want this month to be. "Focus more on getting new bloods into your mlm downline organisation and pay less attention to your registered downlines since they know enough to get them going. If and any time they need your attention, get to them but focus more on recruiting new people" This is what I told myself and my big Sister Nneka yesterday nightwhich was the last day of the month of May. As a christian, I rely so much on the Lord and He has never dissapointed me. So on waking up, I rushed into the bathroom with my bible in hand( to be ahead of time because I was already running late). Openning my bible, I saw the book of Joshua and I thought "wow Joshua chapter 1". It was great, it blessed me and I know this month was already a done deal. It is going to be a great month. Down the Valley

Never go out to prospect or meet your mlm downlines when you are not in the best mind frame that is on days when you are down. Always bear in mind that in mlm, when you talk to people, most time, they are watching your enthusiasm rather than what you have to say. But life is full with so many pitfalls that just comes to sadden our day. So what do we do? Lock up and stay indoors until we feel better? Well what I do is to get back on my feet as quickly as I can, deal with the situation and move on. Most days when The truth is, I have simply risen above the present situation. Do the same every time. It's not easy, but it is possible.

A made up mind!

On this journey to success, my mind is already made up. And the success in this case is not just financially, but in all aspect of my life. I am determined, to do away with any thing and any body that will draw me back. Even in the depths of depression, I have found a way to get yourself back up again. The desire to succeed has so eaten me up that I have no other option. In case you are not sure of where to see me, its in the arena of success. That is where I belong, that is where I am headed to with to my mlm business. Thank God my mlm business keeps me focused, purposeful, productive and I am also so passionate about it. Hello!

Just back from a trip to Ibadan. Some group of IPCs in my company granted me the honour to be a guest speaker in their training session at Ibadan a city in the outsketch of Lagos about 2 hours drive. I was so excited. It was one of my goals in this business fulfilled- traveling for TNI business! The meeting was great. The turn up was great. They were a great audience that were eager to know all that is to be done to succeed. I was called upon to talk about Belief System. I simply told them that success in this business happens more from attitude than from altitude and then I told them my story. Now that will be my next blog. They were all excited and motivated as well as encouraged. I felt like a star. Different ones walked up to me to thank me, ask more questions and I was only glad to be of help especially to my fellow young people.

Her Future

She is priviledged to be among the group of young entreprenuers. She is still in school and she is living with a relative. The group that she is so fortunate to be working with are into mlm, are working on a fast growing site and has formed a company. Infact, what they are trying to do is secure thier future especially in an economy like ours in Nigeria where employment is fast becoming a thing of the past. But her folks seem not to share her vision. Because been involved in such a venture can be very tasking, multi tasking for a student, she is not often at home like she should be. She hasnt gone to see some boyfriend or partying, she is busy doing positive things with her friends and ensuring that by the tmie she is through with school, she already has something big going on and its really BIG. Talking with her, I shared my own experience and let her know that there comes a time in one's life that one has to make a decision, a decision that no one will make for you. She's got her mind made up and decides to focus on whats more important: her future. A Made Up Mind

Real success in Mlm demands you to have skin like Rhinocerose. Rhinoceros are said to have real hard skin. Returning from a day's activity one day, I told my friend out of sheer experience that for one to really succeed in this business, you must have made up your mind that you are going to succeed. My New Goal

I have set a goal for myself this month to hit the next leadership level in mlm business called Pearl. Men, this means real hardwork, dedication and increased commitment. In any mlm business especially TNI, the only way to get to the next level is to focus more on your downline and ensure that you help them succeed. So, I set out with what I tagged "My May Pearl Business Plan". This actually came to me after an mlm training session in our Honey Fountain Group. I have already set out to actualize this goal. Trusting God that He will also grant me his grace like he promised, I am driving my downlines to put in thier best. Most of them already know that this mlm opportunity is real having recieved thier checks at least once. Last weekend, I went to hold a mlm training session for some of my downline. Oh it went on so great. They were so happy and encouraged and I too was encouraged at thier response. We've agreed to meet for four mlm training sessions after which I promised them that they will be ready to start thier own mlm training with thier downlines. Busy Day?

It's really very easy for us to think that our day is really very busy. Read this and then see if your excuse for being unproductive and an underachiever will still be that you have a busy day. From mountain wings a site I subscribed to I got this and found it very challening. Enjoy!

I am 65 years old, work full time and do my own housework,which becomes more of a challenge all the time.My husband is disabled and unable to help me.Right now I am picking up walnuts outside, to sell.I am slower than I used to be at this, because this makes my onewhole leg and hip hurt.My youngest son and his family were here for about 6 1/2 hourstonight. Their children are 5, 3-1/2, and 1. The two oldestare boys. They helped me pick up walnuts, water flowers, etc.while they were here.I fixed supper for 8 people tonight, fixed my grandsons' platesand ate with them while other people did their own thing.I have cooked three meals today, cleaned up the dishes and donelaundry. I also read to my grandsons and helped to keep myyear-old granddaughter occupied.I've also had help to takes clothes out of the clothes dryer,etc.In my spare time, I make the greeting cards that I send, I amworking on my husband's genealogy, and am now working on acalendar to give people for Christmas.I have just completed a book "A Lifetime Together," covering the46 years my husband and I have known each other. I also handlethe family budget and correspondence.Now I must finish on the computer, so I can get to bed and get alittle rest before I must get up in the morning and startanother busy day.Zelda

Attitude is Everything...

Jerry was the kind of guy you love to hate. He was always in a good mood and always had something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!"

He was a unique manager because he had several waiters who had followed Him around from restaurant to restaurant. The reason the waiters followed Jerry was because of his attitude. He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Jerry was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation. Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry and asked him, "I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?"

Jerry replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, Jerry, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood.' I choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life."

"Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested.

"Yes it is," Jerry said. "Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people will affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live life."

I reflected on what Jerry said. Soon thereafter, I left the restaurant industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.

Several years later, I heard that Jerry did something you are never supposed to do in a restaurant business: he left the back door open one morning and was held up at gunpoint by three armed robbers. While trying to open the safe, his hand, shaking from nervousness, slipped off the combination. The robbers panicked and shot him. Luckily, Jerry was found relatively quickly and rushed to the local trauma center. After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body. I saw Jerry about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be twins. Wanna see my scars?"

I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the robbery took place. "The first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the back door," Jerry replied. "Then, as I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live, or I could choose to die. I chose to live.

"Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked. Jerry continued, "The paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the emergency room and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read, 'He's a dead man.

" I knew I needed to take action."

"What did you do?" I asked.

"Well, there was a big, burly nurse shouting questions at me," said Jerry. "She asked if I was allergic to anything. 'Yes,' I replied. The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, 'Bullets!' Over their laughter, I told them, 'I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead."

Jerry lived thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully. Attitude, after all, is everything.

Success has nothing to do with your background, education, where you were born, who your parents are etc. Several studies have shown that all successful people have one thing in common, and that is thier thinking pattern, their belief and mindset. Your belief and mindset dictates and control your attitude and your commitment to this or any other endeavour. You must believe that you must succeed. You must have a mindset of suceess. Your belief needs to be way up in the skies if succeess in this business is to be guaranteed.

Life Moves On

Do you know that the average human being has 50 - 60 thousand thoughts that goes through the mind on a daily basis. Out of these thoughts, 95% are negative thoughts form the past. Thoughts from the past only keeps us in the past and makes sure we remain there. The only way to move on with life is to get rid of these thoughts and the only way to get on with these thoughts is to forgive. Forgiveness is a basic principle in life and so must be applied. We must forgive and sort out issues in the past and the people in our past who have hurt us or are responsible for those negative stuffs in our past. Holding on to these, only keep us in the past and hinders us from moving on with life.

The only thoughts that has no begining is God's thoughts. to change your attitudes, you need to change your thoughts first. your thoughts controls and forms your attitude. Attitudes is a way of life. Attitude doesn't come over night, it's developed and formed. They start as a thought and from thought, it becomes a belief, a habit. Your belief controls your habit and your habit controls your belief which is also known as your mindset (a mind that is set). The outward manifestation of these habits is what is known as ATTITUDE. Your attitude determines a great deal your success in network marketing. Change your attitude toward life today by simply cahnging your way of thinking. A better Organisation

I have been having a swell time signing people up people and teaching them how to also get people signed up. But my main concern is getting them trained because I realise the need for training. Its not an option, its a must for sucess in this network marketing business and I want every single person I sponsor, to suceed. But many factors play against this, some can hardly get any time off work, there are others who dont see the need, thinking they can succed anyhow so even though they can make out time, they hardly come and when I go out on my own to teach them say in thier offices or home, they already have a mind set that they dont need the traininig and several other situation even though there a few who appreciate the trining and want more confirming statistics that says 9 out of 10 fail in this business. But I dont give up anybody, so I decided to make a little handout and talk on the importance of training. If they can see the need, I thought, whether I am there or not, they will strive to get trained. I pointed out that training is the only thing that will:

increase thier value in the market place
give then the prffesional skill they need for proffessional income
bring out the dormant potential in them
focus on their personal develpment, people skill as well as basic skills
give them the education, the time, the oppurtunity to develope leadership skills that is essential for sucess in this business
ensure that people leave the crowd and stick with them and
make them focus and purposeful

The burden is to make them desire for more and more information, that way they can have something to give to their own downlines then, we all together, can boast of a great organisation and with time enjoy true leveraging. In network marketing business, you'll get a lot of excitement out of your work so the money becomes a secondary thing because you're doing an excellent job which will automatically attract the money. You set your goals yourself, you know where you started from, where you're at this moment and where you want to go. You also look at what you've achieved so far and take pleasure in them. You never ever loose in Network marketing. Even when the visibles are no more, you can always take what you've learnt and move on, knowing that you will always succed. In Network Marketing, your success is not affected by someone else's failure. There is no competition, no tearing down of one another to succeed rather, helping others only takes you up and doesnt hurt you at all. The phrase "dog eat dog", is not ever applicable. Hurray!

My last month's activity in my network marketing business, Tahitian Noni International to be precise, got me the leadership tittle of a Jade. Becoming a Jade in our company is the very first goal of a distributor after sign-up. Attaining leadership title has a lot of significance. It shows that you are working; shows that you are succeeding; that you are a leader, that this business is real and is what it is said to be and finally, attaining leadership tittle simply means that your income is growing, increasing and will get bigger. I know that I am really going to be rich and becoming a Jade only makes me know for sure that my dreams will only come through. A group volume of 4,800 cases over six levels in my organization and three Corals on my first level, simply meaning that we made 40 cases of Tahitian Noni Juice in my group, made this possible. Thanks to my downlines in my organisation for without them, this may not have been possible. To my uplines in the Honey Fountain Group who have trained, encouraged and looked forward to my success, working tirelessly and selflessly and who excitedly rejoiced with me over this achievement, I say a very big thank you. I really love you all. This is worth celebrating because it was real hardwork and this tells that if you work hard and do what you are told to do in this business, success is sure. Becoming a Jade is only the beggining. There are other mountains to cross and I trust that the good dear Lord Jesus Christ, who granted me the grace to get here, is more than able and willing to see that I get to the peak of this business even to become a TNI executive. I am back

I have no single excuse for staying out of touch and off air for so long a time. I can't even believe that it's almost a month since I last blogged. This tells me that one really has to be on thier toes or life will get in the way. Pls welcome me back. Today I extracted a tooth and the experience wasnt funny. Dropouts: they join and quit before accomplishing anything

The Climb

It's more than a year now since I started network marketing with a wonderful company called Tahitian Noni International. I have no single doubt about suceeding in this business especially with such a tremendous product like ours and the sound training I have got. I look back and I am very greatful for the day my path crossed this grand opportuinity for every moment has been worth it and my life is getting better and better each day. I have had my own share of pain from past mistakes, have and is still working very hard, doing all I can to apply and practice what I have been taught and have also had great moment seeing those principles work. But I have more to achieve than just being rich and I am sure that is why the climb has not been easy. Because at the end of the day, I see me rich not only financially, but rich in character, rich in reaching out to people, rich in helping in any way that I can. I figure if the money just comes, then I have achieved nothing. I desire to help not only myself, but to help people succeed also; people who maybe have given up on life and never thought they'll make it anymore. The process is a long one, sometimes I feel low, discouraged and feel like giving up, but no, somehow, I see myself at the end of the tunnel hand in hand with someone I have helped looking at me with shinny eyes, and really, really thanking me for not giving up on them, for helping them succeed and helping them get thus far. So I am not about giving up, I am just begining. It may seem long, but I'll hit it real big and swing real high. I think so, yes I know so and I love me so very much. HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Each of the group in the cashflow quadrant, has similar characteristics.The The E(employees) quadrant folks think and speak alike wheteher a janitor or a president. You often hear things like: "I am looking for a safe and secure job with benefits", " How much money do we get on over time?", "How many paid holidays do we have?". Security is a very core important value. The S (self employed) value independence and move from E quadrantto S quadrant by saying "I am quiting my job to go do it myself" and are filled with proffessionals like Doctors, Lawyers, Accountants etc. They are hard core, hard working and content in heading a very few staff and use words like: " if you want it done right, do it yourself" and "I have the best product". Thier theme song is "nobody does it better". The B (big business owners) are people with powerful life mission. They value great team, want to serve and work with the best. They look for others who are good or better than them. They can stop working and income keeps coming. The I (investors) value financial freedom and love the idea of money working for them instead of working themseves. Thier common sayings are: "I am recieving 20% of my assets", "how much money defered maintenance is on the property?".

Beleive it or not, you belong to one of these four groups: Employees, Self Employed, Big business Owners and Investors. The Employees and the Self Employed are on one part of the quadrant called THE RAT RACE while the Big business Owners and the Investors are on the other side of the quadrant known as THE FAST TRACK. The people in real money are those in the Fast track and baby, it takes a whole lot to move into that part of the quadrant and many of us are trapped in the RAT RACE CORNER. Refusing to change over to the FAST TRACK means that you'll forever wish you could quit from your job; you'll tire yourself from going from job to job; you'll forever wish you could make money but never afford to loose your job or learn a new proffession; you'll work hard but only the owners of the company will get rich and you'll not get ahead financially and too soon, you'll start thinking about retirement and always be afraid that technology or someone younger or smarter will over throw you.

Your goal is your life's value and in setting your goals, it will help to have an insight on the anatomy of a goal.
what = goal, intent
why = motive, passion, desire, dream
how = plan
Your 'why' justifies your goal.
Your 'why' and your 'what' is much more simple than your 'how' but your 'why' is more important because if your 'why'(that is your reason) is not strong enough, you'll find it very easy to give up because it is th driving force, and it keeps you going through the tough times. Let's take an example: Eunice has a goal to make money and become really rich( that's her 'what').Her reason for having this goal is to be able to help people(her 'why).She plans to do this by getting involved in multi-level marketing(her 'how'). One more tip, unless your dream, purpose is almost a spiritual thing (like helping people), you may not not go to far. So dont just desire to make money, step it up by desiring to help make the world a better place.

Being Your Own Boss!

The idea of being your own boss is really trilling. You can now set your own hours, doing all you can to avoid stress which is very common in the traditonal business. It is now up to you to schedule your time and perform productive tasks on your own.
Set actual work hours. Decide what hours you are going to work each day and stick to it as much as possible. This is one of the beautiful things about a home busines. You get to make this choice based upon your own personal situation ( like getting kids off to school…playing golf in the morning, etc…whatever happens to “float your boat”).Make "to do" lists for each day. Then as you get them done, check them off the list. You can transfer anything you don't get done on a particular day to the next days list.Once you have decided on proven home business oppurtunity, focus on persistence, and be prepared to give it at least 6-12 months to begin to see real solid income.

I asked some friends the other day these two questions: how much are you worth and how much do you have to your name? In answering the question, they thought that the second question should actually come first because, believing that it will get the person into serious thought and by the time the second question hits home, he acessess himself to really see how far and how well his life has got.

I think this questions should really get one not only thinking, but to look around at what makes up the daily living. By this I mean, what you do, what occupies your thought, who and what controls you, what you achieve daily for yourself and how secured your future (retirement) is.

We have a lot of say into how your life works out says one of my main mentors in this little life of mine. This is simply because a lot of choices are up to you to make. Do you get? Choices like: who works with you or who you work for, taking the trip or living it for the next vacation, To spend that money or to rather save it for somthing more important etc. Clearer? feel free to share you ideas and coments with me
